Schillmoller This brochure illustrates some of the corrosion experiences involved in handling hydrofluoric acid (HF) and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF) as well as the handling of fluorine. Although HF is chemically classified as a weaker acid than hydrochloric or sulphuric acids, few compounds are more corrosive. In many aqueous applications, gold, platinum, Alloy 400 and Alloy C-276 are the only materials adequately resistant to attack for useful long-term service.
